Family Ties....

We love to spend as much time as possible with our families, especially around the holidays. Each Thanksgiving we join Alicia's family and friends in Lake Tahoe for a weekend filled with barbeques in the snow, sledding, building snowmen and telling stories in front of a fire over hot chocolate. Christmas is just as festive as both families come together at our house to discover what Santa's delivered. Last year, grandparents, great grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins celebrated the holidays with us! 

We are blessed to have a very close relationship with our families that extends beyond just the holiday season. We get together often throughout the year with both sides of the family and Brent shares a special bond with his "Papas" and "Mamas." Everyone showers Brent with love and affection and plays an active role in his life. They can't wait to open their lives and hearts to a new member of the family!

Brent's birth family is part of our extended family as well. Although they live far away, we regularly talk by phone and send recent pictures with news of his latest accomplishments. We look forward to adding another branch to our special family tree with our second open adoption.
